Knowledge of the Holy

Chapter 4 - The Holy Trinity

Check out this website for the current chapter:

I am glad this is a faith walk that we are on... as to operate by mere sight alone is not something that we practice at any time. Because we walk by faith, I am happy to put my faith in the written word of God.

Do I always understand what I am called on to believe? No. But when it come to the mysteries of my God, I am content to be overwhelmed. Three individuals in one? Hmmm. Hard one to get my mind around.

However, the communion, the fellowship, the pleasure of each other they have already have experienced must have been choice. The pain of separation at the cross immense. The anticipation of our participation exquisite.

What a God!

Knowledge of the Holy - Chapter 3

A Divine Attribute: Something True About God

As we continue reading and meditating on the writings of A.W. Tozer, we come to chapter 3. To find the reading, you may go to:
http://www.heavendwellers.com/hdt_%adchapter_3_koh.htm

How do we describe an individual?

  • By what they do? "He is a mailman." "She homeschools." "They own a coffee shop."
  • By what they have done? "He won seven gold medals at the Olympics." "She has never missed a day at school."
  • By their possessions? "He owns that red '57 chevy." "They own that beautiful house on the bluff."
  • By how they appear? "He is over 6 feet tall." "She has blue eyes."
  • By their character? "He is so gentle." "She always has time for others."
So how do we describe God? By these same categories? Think on it!

Knowledge of the Holy - Chapter 2

God Incomprehensible

Here is the link to chapter two of A.W. Tozer's book. I invite you to read it and then come back here to comment.
http://www.heavendwellers.com/hdt_chapter_2__koh.htm

When someone shares a new truth with us they often create similes using "like" or ""as" to paint word pictures in our minds. "He is strong as a ox!" "Her words were refreshing like a drink of a water on a hot day." Sometimes the way to describe something is to say what it is "not." "The scene was not a pretty picture. Sometimes metaphors are used to paint those pictures. "He was drowning in money."

Have you consider the pictures that God has painted in our minds about Himself using word pictures?

Pictures using "like" or "as"?

Pictures using "not"?

Metaphors?

Share your insights from God's word.

Yet, with all that He has given us to know Him, He is more...

Love, Pastor Tim
